here are a good selection of nice and cheap (very affordable) hotels in Magaluf, with self-catering, half-board, and some all-inclusive options.
May 2010 saw the opening of the Mallorca Rocks Hotel I have added some information which I thought might be helpful for anyone looking for interesting places to stay when visiting Mallorca.
Mallorca Rocks Hotel is located in Magalluf, Mallorca. This is a brand new hotel, opened in May 2010 and following in the success of the hugely popular Ibiza Rocks Hotel. Please note that concert tickets are not included. All guests must note that there is a Mandatory Major Concerts Supplement that must be paid on arrival of 35 euros per person. Bands that have previously played at the Ibiza Rocks property include Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Calvin Harris and Dizzee Rascal so you can expect the best live acts and performances. 2011 line-up will be announced soon. This cool complex is 300 metres from the beach, in the centre of the lively resort of Magalluf, on the southwest side of Mallorca. The 328 apartments are spread across 12 main buildings, set around a huge 85 metre lagoon-like pool. All buildings are set amidst Mediterranean style gardens. The guests can use the facilities of the main building. This hotel is adult only (over 18 years) Getting to the hotel: Mallorca Rocks Hotel is 25 km from the airport. Local tips: The hotel is located 100 metres from Magaluf Centre, close to plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife. Public transport is just 50 metres from the hotel. Palma de Mallorca is 16 km from Magalluf. Please note this is an adults only property If you are aged under 17 and 18 years old (on date of departure) and your parents or guardians are not traveling with you, we must receive written consent from them confirming they are assigning your welfare and responsibility to an adult member of your travelling party. Magalluf is situated on the south-west part of the island, with its adjoining resort of Torrenova. It is approximately 30 to 35 minutes journey from the Palma Mallorca airport depending on traffic volume at time of arrival.
You can enjoy the sun on Playa Magaluf beach. This lovely long sandy beach, where many water sports are on offer, is very popular in summer months. Boat trips are also available from this beach.
You have your choice of evening entertainment in this resort, as it has a large choice of cafes, music bars, discos and night clubs.
When we are in Magaluf, we often stop in to see our friends Jackie and Mal (Captain Cook) at the very popular Fountain Bar across the road from the Sol Magaluf Hotel. It’s a great place to enjoy live entertainment. The shows start at 10:00 until 12ish and the bar stays open until quite late. The nightly shows include Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner, Leapy Lee, Neil Diamond, Lionel Ritchie, Elvis and Drag Nite. It’s always a really fun atmosphere. I am sure you’ll enjoy a night out at the Fountain Bar.
In fact, this resort is known for being the liveliest, thumping party town of Mallorca during the months of July and August. So, if you plan to holiday during these months, and you want to let loose and be a party animal, this is the place for you.
Many groups choose this resort for their Hen Parties and Stag Nights. Magalluf has one of the best known Night Clubs called BCM Planet Dance, on the island featuring the most famous DJs and of course, those fun foam parties.
But wait. There’s more. Magaluf is also a Family Resort, and in the winter it is a very popular weekend resort with both English and Spanish.

There are plenty of things to see and do in this resort for families as well. If you need to cool off, Aqualand and Western Water Parks are situated on Cami de Sa Porrassa just up the road from the Pirates Adventure Show. There are other attractions and even a Casino in this resort.
The nearest Golf course is Poniente, although the Santa Ponsa courses are not too far away either.
If you are a tennis player, I’m sure you will be happy to know that Magaluf now has a brand new tennis complex called Diveresport. Call 971 10 28 35 to reserve your court. It has a nice café where you can have some liquid refreshments. Inside this café, there are restrooms where the large changing facilities and showers are located. This newly built tennis court complex is located across the parking lot from Pizza Buffet restaurant.
You can visit the Saturday morning market or go shopping in the vast array of shops in and around this resort.
